It's getting to be that time of year again - when summer seems to show up out of nowhere and everyone is on the water. Are you prepared?
If not, we want you to have all the knowledge you need at your fingertips. Join us for class this summer!

Here is our schedule for May and June boating classes. If you are interested in attending, just click on the link to sign up.

MAY 2018

  • May 5: Marine Radio Operations
    This two-hour, hands-on class teaches all the functions found on a standard marine radio and the vocabulary need to confidently operate it.
    Ages: 16 - Adult
    Prerequisites: None
     
  • May 12: Play Pen Anchoring
    In this four-hour class on the water, learn the skills needed to confidently navigate and anchor in a heavy populated moorage. Take the helm of a CYA yacht, learning first hand how to anchor a boat with extreme precision.
    Ages: 16 - Adult
    Prerequisites: None
     
  • May 12: Locks & Passage Making
    Putting students at the helm, this four hour, on-the-water class teaches students how to safely pass through the Chicago locks and navigate the Chicago River amongst commercial traffic, bridge operations, and other recreational boats.
    Ages: 16 - Adult
    Prerequisites: None
     
  • May 19: Marine Radio Operations
    In this two-hour, hands-on class, students will learn all the functions found on a standard marine radio and the vocabulary need to confidently operate it. 
    Ages: 16 - Adult
    Prerequisites: None

JUNE 2018

  • June 2: Marine Radio Operations
    Learn how to effectively communicate and sound like a pro with Marine Police, Coast Guard and other boats in this two-hour, hands-on class. Students learn the functions found on a standard marine radio and the vocabulary needed to confidently operate it.
    Ages: 16 - Adult
    Prerequisites: None
     
  • June 2-3: Safe Powerboat Handling
    Learn how to safely operate a powerboat and improve your boat handling skills on actual boats. This is a 14-hour hands-on, on-the-water course where students will gain the required education for standard boat handling.
    Ages: 12 - Adult
    Prerequisites: None
    Certifications Earned: US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certificate
     
  • June 8: Marine Radio Operations

    Certifications Earned: US Powerboating Basic Cruising Certificate
