We are finally seeing that light at the end of the tunnel and we’re ready to enjoy the summer as much as possible this year. Before you head out on the water, make sure you leave time to plan ahead. Here are some harbor updates to keep on your radar:
SPRING BRIDGE LIFT SCHEDULE:
You can find the bridge lift schedule here. Make sure you’re aware of the timings so you can plan ahead!
UPDATED BOATING GUIDELINES
Please be aware that safety guidelines to protect everyone will still be enforced. Masks will be required within the Chicago Park District Harbor grounds and docks, as well as public gathering areas. There have also been updates to the maximum capacity you can have on your vessels, depending on the size.
For more detailed information, check the Chicago Harbors website, as they will be providing frequent updates as rules and regulations change within the state.
UPCOMING HARBOR LOCK CLOSURES:
This one doesn’t affect the main boating season, but we know there are some who like to push the boating season as far as possible into those colder months. So, later this year, be on the watch for the Harbor Lock closures from November to April for repairs. This will be a seasonal repair job through 2025. For more information, visit the Chicago USACE website.
