To say this winter has given all of us a good taste of cabin fever would be an understatement. We are counting down the days until spring and luckily, it’s not too far away. We are glad to see all of you signing up for classes to dust off your boating knowledge – or to learn the basics for the first time. Our first priority is keeping you safe on the water.

April 27: Marine Radio Operations
Learn what takes to sound like a pro on the radio and effectively communicate with Coast Guard, Marine Police, bridges, locks, and other boats.

May 4-5: Basic Powerboat Cruising
3 SPOTS LEFT!
This on-the-water course is designed for mariners who want to learn how to safely operate a powerboat larger than 30 feet and improve their boat handling skills.
Ages: 16 – Adult

May 11-12: Locks & River Passage Making
This 14-hour course takes place both in the classroom and on the water. You’ll learn how to operate a vessel larger than 30 feet and improve your boating skills.

*May 11: Play Pen Anchoring
This four-hour on-the-water class teaches the skills needed to confidently navigate and anchor in a heavy populated moorage. Students will get the opportunity to first-hand anchor a boat aboard a CYA yacht.

May 18-19: Safe Powerboat Handling

This 14-hour hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a powerboat and improve their boat handling skills on actual boats.
