When summertime finally hits, all of Chicago is anxious to get out on the water. Maybe you don’t have your own boat just yet and you’ve been able to get out there with friends and family. Either way, we want you to always have options to enjoy the boating season, which is why we offer boat rentals all season long!

Throughout the season, we hear about all the fun you’ve had on the water by renting one of our boats for the day. We even had a couple get engaged last summer (check out their cute experience here)! That said, we also want to take the time to answer some frequently asked questions for you so that you know exactly what’s involved in our rental options:

If I want to rent, how long can I rent a boat for?
We offer rentals for any time frame you need. Our boats can be rented by the hour, half-day, full-day or even an entire weekend!

What kind of boat am I getting when I rent from Chicago Yacht Works?
Chicago Marine Rentals, which is a division of CYW, offers the world famous Zar-Formenti boats for rent. We have two options:

Zar 49 SL (Holds 5-7 people)

Zar 53 (Holds up to 6 people)

(Please note that we do not have yachts on hand to rent out.)

Do I need to have extensive boating experience to rent one of your boats?
You need to have a boating license and understand the rules and regulations of operating a small boat. We recommend taking one of our boating courses or private lessons if you have never operated a boat before.

What is this going to cost me?
Zar 53:
Hourly – $115/hr
Half-Day – $49
Full Day – $795
Weekend – $1,250

Zar 49SL
Hourly – $95/hr
Half Day – $325
Full Day – $695
Weekend – $995
