July 2018


July 7: Marine Radio Operations

A VHF radio is your best tool in an emergency situation. This two hour, hands-on class teaches all the functions found on a standard marine radio and the vocabulary needed to confidently operate it.
Ages: 16 – Adult
Prerequisites: None

July 7-8: Basic Powerboat Cruising

This 14-hour course includes both on-the-water sessions and classroom sessions. The focus will be on how to responsibly operate a twin screw powered cruising vessel during daylight hours within sight of land in light to moderate wind and sea conditions.
Ages: 16 – Adult
Prerequisites: None
Certifications Earned: US Powerboating Basic Cruising Certificate

July 7-8: Safe Powerboat Handling

Learn how to safely operate a powerboat and improve your boat handling skills on actual boats. This will be a 14-hour course with classroom sessions and on-the-water sessions totaling six to eight hours each, covering required education topics.
Ages: 16 – Adult
Prerequisites: None
Certifications Earned: US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certificate

July 14-15: Coastal Cruising and Night Navigation

This 20-hour course teaches how to safely navigate unfamiliar territory. You’ll leave this class knowing how to plan, prepare and execute a multi-day cruising expedition.
Ages: 16 – Adult
Prerequisites: Basic Powerboat Cruising
Certifications Earned: US Powerboating Inshore Powerboat Cruising certificate and US Powerboating Night Operations certificate

July 23-24: Expedition 61 Basic Powerboat Cruising

This 14-hour course takes place both in the classroom and on the water. You’ll learn how to operate a vessel larger than 30 feet and improve your boating skills.
Ages: 16 – Adult
Prerequisites: None
Certificates Earned: US Powerboating Basic Cruising Certificate

 

August 2018
